AS G321: Print Brief

Preliminary exercise : produce the front page of a new school/college magazine, featuring a photograph of a student in medium close-up plus some appropriately laid-out text and a masthead. Additionally candidates must produce a mock-up of the layout of the contents page to demonstrate their grasp of the program.

Main task: the front page, contents and double page spread of a new music magazine.

I have chosen to do a rock genre magazine, taking ideas from magazines such as "Q" and "Rolling Stones". I decided to do a rock magazine because I feel I have a good understanding of this genre and would be able to understand the magazine more effectively. It will also allow me to be more dynamic with this magazine and to allow me to play around with diffrent ideas based on this genre.

I believe the Preliminary task will help me prepare for the main task because it will allow me to use the time I have more effciently so that I can complete this task on time. I hope to achieve a professional looking rock style magazine which will have content which will appeal to various target audiences allowing them to connect with the magazine.
