Chosen Institution

I have decided to research two main institutions to see which one fits the needs of our short film more in terms of what independent films they have supported. The first Institution I will be researching is the BBC.

The BBC are known for supporting various different independent films. BBC films co-produces around eight films a year, working in partnership with major international and UK distributors. The BBC have produced and co-produced films such as:

Another Institution I have put into account is Film 4 who are also known for producing various independent films and have produced and co-produced many thriller and crime films. The company have been known for backing a large number of films made in the UK. The company's first production was Walter (directed by Steven Frears) which came out in 1982. Film 4 are especially known for their gritty, 'kitchen-sink' style of films and period drama's.

Film 4 have produced and co-produced films such as:

I have decided that our chosen institution should be Film 4 down to the fact that they have produced and co-produced more thriller films than the BBC, and because they are known for their gritty style of films, I believe our short film will fit into their target audience demographic very well.
